A Very Special Dover Free Farmers Market
Over 800 community members attended the Free Farmer’s Market in November. Since August 2017, the number of participating members has increased every month. Shaping Dover and the Morris County Family Success Center, programs of the Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey, organize this event every month in collaboration with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and Local Share.
The goal of Shaping Dover is to drive the community for an active lifestyle and to encourage them to eat healthy. That is why we focused on giving out fresh fruits and vegetables every time. Last month, The Community Foodbank and Local Share provided apples, cabbage, onions, papayas, peppers, potatoes and almond milk. The Town of Dover donated turkeys and helped with the distribution of them at the event. Special thanks to our wonderful volunteers who donated their time to help us make this extraordinary event possible.
The program is supported by funding from Atlantic Health System as part of the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network.
