The New Jersey Healthy Communities Network and its partners and grantees support healthy eating and active living through evidence-based models to advance environmental and policy changes.

By using key evidence-based models like Blue Zones, National Prevention Strategy, ShapingNJ,  Sustainable Jersey, and others, we can develop strategies to help New Jerseyans live longer, better lives in every setting where we live, learn, work and play.  Our collective impact model ensures that we can make a bigger impact by working together.

Strategies are categorized – each with mutually reinforcing strategies, measurable objectives and contributing indicators of success.

National Prevention Strategy prioritizes prevention by integrating evidence-based recommendations and actions across multiple settings to improve health and save lives.

ShapingNJ is the state partnership for nutrition, physical activity and obesity prevention. The goal of this partnership is to prevent obesity and improve the health of populations that are at risk for poor health outcomes in New Jersey by making “the healthy choice, the easy choice.”
