Blog 3, Year 2 Tower Garden and Pickleball
Blog 3 (Year 2) Tower Garden and Pickleball.
Central – Samantha Bunsa
As of today, Long Branch Public Schools continue to toggle between in person and remote due to Covid 19, however there have been an increasing number of students attending in person classes. Thus, more students have been exposed to growing with the tower gardens. I continue to have zoom calls and emails with all teachers. I also was able to visit the site two times to see the gardens and assist teachers with any issues.
Pickleball continues in the community. We are still playing outside, and we have been able to play indoors a bit. This activity has continued and has been very popular with the community.
Food services have not been able to set a night up for parents and community members and feel we still need to wait until schools re-open in the fall. The Farmers market has not open yet but we are hoping they will open over the summer. Teachers will have summer school students bring their veggies to the market if available.
At this point the teachers will continue to facilitate Pickleball and grow their gardens.
