Bike Challenge in Woodbridge a Success

The Woodbridge Youth Center Bike Challenge was held on May 5th, 2017. Twelve students participated in the Challenge.  Two students received new bikes during the event.  The highlight of the day was when one the two mountain bikes was won by one of the boys who clearly wanted a bike of his own.  He was so excited when it was announced and everyone there was very happy for him.  Formal evaluations after the event showed that the youth present at the event would wear a helmet for bike riding thereafter.

Under the Nutrition component, vegetable planting was completed on May 9, 2017 with two volunteers.  Squash, tomatoes and pepper plants were planted each in separate beds.  All the plants are growing nicely.   The plants were donated by Rising Up, a local nursery.  We look forward to the  harvest later on in the summer.
