The Mayor of Willingboro Launches a Community Fitness and Nutrition Saturday

Mayor Chris Walker of Willingboro, NJ launches a new community Fitness and Nutrition Saturday. The new community event fulfills and puts in to action some of the goals listed in our strategic plan and Willingboro Township Wellness Resolution. Mayor Walker lead a group of 45 community members in a walk and fitness session at the JF Kennedy Center in Willingboro, NJ on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Black Girls Run and other community partners participated in the Saturday, February 18th event and help to provide nutrition and wellness information.

The February 18th event is significant because it is an additional wellness event initiated by Mayor Walker. Every other month the “Walk with the Mayor” has taken place for 1 year as part of the 2016 grant period. Mayor Walker has added a Fitness and Nutrition Saturday for 2017, which now provides a wellness event each month with the Mayor in Willingboro, New Jersey.

Mayor Walker and the P.L.A.A.Y. grant team are excited about the increased momentum of the physical and nutrition outreach in Willingboro, New Jersey.
