Coming Soon to Bloomfield: Our First Parklet!

We are super excited to announce the unveiling of our modular parklet this Saturday (Oct. 6) at HarvestFest — “Bloomfield’s Largest Festival!” HarvestFest is the perfect place to showcase our small portable parklet. The festival attracts more than 20,000 visitors each year and features family-friendly activities such as rides, a petting zoo, food court, marketplace of vendors and live entertainment. (We would love to see you! You can learn more here:

With the gracious help of Bloomfield resident and contractor Matthew Mulvey of Mulvey Custom Contracting, we will be installing the parklet along Broad Street near the downtown revitalization area, extending the sidewalk using decking materials and putting up chairs, tables and planters to create an inviting outdoor space. Come and hang out! Our hope is to be able to move the parklet to other sites throughout town.

Aside from Matthew, a big thank you goes to Bike&Walk Montclair, the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition and of course, Partners for Health Foundation, for providing the funding.

Thanks to all those involved, we are reclaiming our public space one spot at a time!

Check back next month for pictures of our new parklet from HarvestFest.
