Ending the year with Gratitude
Our work with the Faithful Families program continues to help faith communities empower their members to make positive, long-lasting health-promoting changes. This past month we had the pleasure of working with El Centro Biblico of Morristown, NJ. This faith community is a cornerstone for many immigrant families in Morristown. Their work toward healthy living includes working with the Mayor of Morristown on many wellness issues including hosting a health fair in the summer.
MCOHA was honored to work with the Morristown community to end this grant year. Our classes and Garden Tower set up were once again led by Dorian Restrepo who teaches our program curriculum and cooking demonstrations while also indicating how our daily choices influence our health today and in the future. Our sessions at El Centro Biblico encompassed all of our objectives as seen in our pictures. The program is full of information, trust, and laughs while touching the lives of community members both young and older, families and individuals, in a bilingual, faith building manner.
We want to thank our community partners and faith communities who have opened their doors, families, and have genuinely accepted and supported our program. For more information about MCOHA services, please call (973) 366-4770 or visit www.mcoha.org.
