Englewood Health Department

The Englewood Health Department has been diligently working to complete the year cycle with the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network. It has been a long process! The health department was able to purchase exercise weights which were used for our current program, “Let’s Cuff It” with the Public Health Nurse. In the program participants get their blood pressure and heart rate checked before and after exercising. The participants also receive lots of valuable information about the importance of exercise and received Garmin watches that were purchased by the health department and Age Friendly Englewood.

We are currently waiting for the City Engineer to appropriate pricing for the installation of exercise equipment in Mackay Park.

The Health Department partnered with Vitalent to conduct a blood drive on August 5th and collected 18 pints of whole blood and total red cells. Each Red Cell unit helps to save three lives. Thanks to the donors we helped save fifty four lives in our community.
