Focus Groups Via Zoom-Complete

The Englewood Health Department began phase 2-focus groups of the Community Needs Assessment by having community leaders refer residents to participate. We began conducting focus groups with residents in October via Zoom. The health department conducted focus groups with teenagers, seniors, and the English and Spanish speaking populations. During the focus groups we received a lot of similar concerns in regards to the safety of the parks, health challenges, health programs, new programs and promotion of programs. At this time, we will compile all of the information received and create a survey. The survey will be made up of questions specific to our focus and ask residents to label the top three priorities the health department and/or city should tackle. This third phase, surveys, will start in the beginning of 2021 during next year’s grant cycle.

More over, the Englewood Health Department has continued COVID-19 contact tracing due to the sudden surge of cases within the city. Unfortunately, we had our first death since June and are beginning to focus on the prevention and tracking of the COVID-19 virus. We hope to get a handle on the increase of cases and truly educate the public to limit gatherings with only the people within their immediate households during the holidays.
