Growing Health and Faith in Morris County

MCOHA had a busy start to this year!  MCOHA has continued working with our faith-based partners in Morris County by helping them empower their members to make positive, long-lasting health-promoting changes.  In the first half of this year we finished our work at the Primera Iglesia Pentecostal (First Pentecostal Church) of Dover, NJ when we delivered their first ever Tower Garden.  Traditional gardening can be complicated and time-consuming. But because the Tower Garden automatically delivers water and nutrients when they’re most needed, Primera Iglesia Pentecostal will be able to grow strong, healthy plants with minimal effort and within their own indoor space.  Their tower garden will help them achieve their healthy goals using their unique space features.

In these past months MCOHA has also confirmed new partnerships with Ministerio de Fe y Accion (Ministry of Faith and Action) located in Dover, NJ and the Salvation Army of Morristown.  We are so excited to work with two news communities located in two different cities in Morris County, NJ and also allows us to reach the very young and their parents through the Salvation Army Pre-school program and the seniors and families of Ministry of Faith and Action.  We have completed our faith community’s assessments and will start nutritional classes and policy action plans this month.  We can’t wait to share our experiences and the growth of our communities in the upcoming months.

There is much work yet to be done but MCOHA is up to the challenge and is excited to change our community’s health.  We deeply appreciate the support and trust of all our community partners and faith communities who have opened their doors to our program.
