We enjoy the work we do to encourage healthy eating and exercise for our current and former program participants who have experienced homelessness. It is our goal to pursue these educational goals in fun, informative and entertaining ways that will encourage lifelong habits for entire families in our community.
In a new partnership with Hilltop Bikes and with the great fundraising efforts of the Tri for Family Promise fundraising team, on Saturday, August 3, 2019, our participants will participate in a workshop to learn how to ride a bike, learn safe bike riding techniques, and several will even be able to take a bike home! The New Jersey health Communities Network Grant will provide helmets, pads, and healthy snacks for the workshop. The workshop will be held at the Family Promise Day Center in Union, NJ – the hub where both current and former guests have access to housing and educational resources as well as our wellness program.
We look forward to new and exciting partnerships – and to our ongoing work within the community!
