LPES Traverse Wall

The traverse rock wall is in!  The Lincoln Park Elementary School is so excited for the colorful and appropriately challenging wall that has been installed in our gymnasium.  The twenty-foot wall from Everlast Climbing Industries is something the children and teachers are looking forward to using once we return to school in September.  We were able to have some students try out the wall already, and we received rave reviews!  One third grade student commented, “Wow, this is really cool!  I can’t wait to do this in gym class.”

LPES students in grades kindergarten through four will be able to utilize this wall during their physical education classes.  While the wall will be installed somewhat low to the ground, the inherent challenge will be to traverse the wall, up to twenty feet across.  Up to four students will be able to climb the wall at one time.

We are also excited that our FX Interactive Projection System from FX Game Zone has been installed!  FX is an interactive projection system that employs state of the art technology to track body movements and gestures.  This software will allow our students to interact with audio visual effects that will create a whole new world of play and entertainment.

These grants were made possible through Chilton Medical Center and the Atlantic Health System.  Thank you!
