Our COVID-19 Crisis Response to Health and Safety
Since 1898, Bergen Family Center has always been there for local families. The crisis surrounding the Coronavirus is no different. Our team of dedicated professionals moved swiftly to connect with families; assessing and fulfilling needs immediately.
Personal hygiene for good health and safety
From home delivery to curbside drop off and direct mail delivery, BFC provides diapers, masks, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and so much more to our families.
We have helped well over 600 families; mitigating the emotional and financial burden of this public health crisis. Mothers with newborns receive diapers, formula, infant clothing, and emotional support.
Personal hygiene items and adult briefs are delivered to home-bound and isolated older adults meeting the specific needs of seniors.
In partnership with local businesses, law-enforcement, houses of worship, and volunteers, we’ve held a successful essential items grab and go event and served over 300 community members in Englewood.
By the end of August, we will have distributed over 1,500 shopping bags filled with personal hygiene and cleaning items not available at local food banks.
About the Grantee
Founded in 1898 by the Woman’s Club of Englewood, as an after-school program for vulnerable youth, Bergen Family Center is Bergen County’s oldest continuously operating family service agency. We value early learning; promote healthy youth development, provide prevention, intervention, and counseling services, offer critical support to families, and help older adults age in place with dignity
