Park Improvements Expected for Summer!
The Freehold Township Committee passed Ordinance O-19-5 in February, which appropriates $55,000 of General Capitol Funds, to the streetscape improvement plan proposed by the Freehold Township Mayor’s Wellness Campaign. This is a critical step in completing the 3-part improvement plan surrounding Opatut Park. In April, the project was formally put out to bid. The $55,000 from Freehold Township and the funds from the Healthy Communities Grant will allow for safer, more complete access to Opatut Park and the neighboring YMCA of Western Monmouth County. Work is expected in late spring or early summer. This will be a wonderful asset to the neighboring homes and developments, as children will have a safer passage to the park while schools are not in session.
