On Friday, November 30th, the Boys and Girls Club After-school program the 2nd and 3rd-grade students, Columbus Elementary School, enjoyed a cooking lesson from Chef Anwar. They had a great learning opportunity for new foods, herbs, and spices. The Black Bean Spread and Whole Wheat Pita Chips was a great recipe choice. They were not sure if they would like the dip and pita chips while making it but, once the students tasted it they wanted seconds. As part of our Ready, Set, Healthy curriculum we are always looking for opportunities to teach children how to try new foods that are easy and quick to make and healthy!
