Sit or Stand- The Great Debate

Do you suffer from sitting disease?

Symptoms:

  1. Poor posture
  2. Back/ Spinal Injuries
  3. Weight Gain and a Slower Metabolism
  4. Chronic Fatigue
  5. Repetitive Use Injuries

At Manasquan High School we have decided to add alternative seating options to our cafeteria. Students can have now the option to stand while eating. This do help with proper digestion and also with the symptoms listed above. Since implementing the alternative seating option students have gravitated towards it. The students report liking to be able to stand while eating since they all day while in their classes. They also report that the stand up tables and great to get school work done at without hunching over. We will be taking this initiative across the street to our elementary school cafeteria in the spring.
