Snow Days are Soon Pool Days

Even though there is snow on the ground, we are working towards getting ready for the warm sun and the 2019 pool season.  As we prepare for the season, we are anticipating the ways to provide a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for our families.  Aside from the entertainment, offering healthy foods to fuel their summer fun is a top priority.  As part of our travels this past summer, we came across the snack bar at the Cape May County Zoo which had a dedicated healthy food choices menu.

While a zoo and a pool are two different environments, they both have the same goal of entertaining families and providing them with some refreshments to continue enjoying the summer fun.  Seeing a healthy food choices menu out in the “wild” gave us some insight on how to shape our menu for this upcoming season.  As we continue our search for snack bar vendor for the 2019 season, we have used the menu we saw in Cape May as our inspiration as to what we would like to offer our pool members.  While we have been successful in our pilot season, seeing an existing healthy choices menu helped us to sharpen our focus on providing a viable option.
