Spring fling fun begins!

Spring is here! And we are ready to dance. Our sessions are held each Tuesday at 6:00 pm at the Morristown Neighborhood House. 37 people have registered for our Spring Zumba sessions. During the first session the participants completed our registration forms and the MNH & Interfaith Food Pantry’s nutrition questionnaire. The questionnaires are provided so we can get a better understanding of our participants eating habits and how active they are in their daily lives. Each week the first 25 participants that attend the class receive a bag of fruits and vegetables. We have observed several of our participants donate their food bag to another person, this shows how close and caring of a community we are becoming. We like to include all cultures, each week you will dance to all types of music that includes Merengue, Salsa, Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, Reggae and much more! Our sessions are free and also we include free childcare. As our participants enjoy the 1 hour session, the little ones are located in our child care classroom. We provide 2 trained childcare staff members, they keep the children busy with activities such as art work, puzzles and also the children receive 30 minutes of outside active play time. We are so excited to see new and returning participants this season. The program is supported by funding from Atlantic Health System as part of the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network.
