Summer summer summertime….
The campers at the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County spent their summer staying healthy and active and having loads of fun!
Summer Camp started on June 24th at both of our Clubhouses, and will run until August 30th.
Campers spent time at the Capitol City Farm in Trenton learning about vegetables and fruit crops; they tasted peaches, chives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and many more! Let’s just say that they were eager to have more! When they found out they could take some of the treats home, it was as if the stars were sparkling in their eyes.
A local company volunteered and taught the kids about healthy living habits through pictionary and heads ups! The volunteers gave each camper a Seed Kit to plant and grow at home. Their lesson was the proverbial icing on the cake because the kids made green galaxy smoothies in cooking!
Between the physical and healthy living activities, campers are staying active and having fun!
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County provides young people, ages 5 to 18, in Mercer County with social, enrichment and recreational activities through after-school, weekend, and summer programs.
