THE 2018 STATS ARE IN FOR CITY GREEN’S VEGGIE MOBILE VISITS TO FINN’S MOBILE HOME PARK
The 2018 NJHCN grant year was a very good one. We learned quite a bit, we offered a variety of free screenings/educational programs and, even more importantly, we were able to provide residents of Finn’s Mobile Home Park easier access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
Listed below are the statistics we gleaned from our 2018:
The total number of customers visiting the Veggie Mobile increased by 38% over the course of the season.
SNAP customers accounted for 15% of total customers. (Of those SNAP customers 32% were new to SNAP.)
City Green Doubles Bucks accounted for 105 of total sales.
Approximately 17% of total goods sold were bought by redeeming Veggie Bucks coupons. The coupons were purchased by the Healthy Finn’s Group using NJHCN grant funds.
Overall, residents of Finn’s saved more than 25% of the total cost of their fruits and vegetables using Double Bucks and Veggie Bucks coupons.
We are pleased with these results but realize there is always room for improvement. Our goal for 2019 is to increase the number of residents who utilize the Veggie Mobile and offer more Veggie Bucks during the year.
This program is supported by funding from Atlantic Health System as part of the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network.
