Township of Nutley Assessment 2020 sidelined by COVID-19…?
Since mid-March, the Nutley Health Department, like just about every other health department worldwide, has been focusing our efforts solely on the frightening and mystifying disease known as COVID-19/Novel Coronavirus. We have poured our efforts into contacting COVID(+) individuals, as well as their close contacts, offering guidance, comfort and care wherever, whenever and however necessary. Countless hours have been spent on this initiative, with little time to spare for our grant project. It does seem however that things are slowing down a bit in Nutley, and we are gradually resuming our efforts and getting back on track with our Community Wellness Assessment. A small consolation could quite possibly be that the information we have been gathering over the past 11 weeks or so can be included in the assessment, as some of the interaction between our office and the public is very relevant to what we would have originally been trying to capture.
Our consultant has continued to conduct his research over the past few months, and we are shooting for a release date of late June. We will be utilizing the postal service as well as digital platforms to disseminate the assessment, and we have plans to conduct focus groups through online platforms such as Zoom, to engage various community and faith-based organizations.
We remain optimistic in the face of adversity, and will continue to serve our community by working with them to provide the types of programs, assistance, guidance they have always looked for, and received, from the Nutley Health Department.
