Vauxhall Community Garden/Golden Kitchen Food Pantry Serving Community throughout the CoronaVirus Epidemic
Volunteers from Golden Rule Lodge/Chapter and members from the community continue to work in the Vauxhall Community Garden to produce fresh vegetables for the community. We are challenged with the Coronavirus 19 epidemic, however in the garden we practice social distancing with the scheduling 0f volunteers as well as wearing mask when working in garden if social distancing is not possible.
Our garden is flourishing and we were able to harvest and donate fresh spinach and basil to the Golden Kitchen Food Pantry for distribution on June 24, 2020. Volunteers working in garden received compliments from members of community and inquiries on when to expect vegetables from the Garden. We will within the next week provide to the community Collards, Kale and Spinach from our Vauxhall Community Garden. We also acquired a new volunteer from the community as well, he saw the work that the volunteers were doing and wanted to be a part of the Community Garden.
Golden Kitchen Food Pantry has been blessed with donating food to the needy in the Vauxhall Community, almost weekly with donations from United Way, in addition to our monthly distribution every second Saturday.
“This work is supported by funding from Atlantic Health System as part of the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network.”
