3rd Annual Back to School Bash

For the 3rd annual Back to School Bash, we were able to bring together over 500 community members to celebrate the back to school season. A lot of work and dedication was put into the coordination of this event. We spent several days stuffing backpacks and procuring school supplies that were donated by our community sponsors and partners. The bash included areas for children and community members to get active either through sports, dance or other fun like hula-hoops. We had relay races available in partnership with our local fire department and our local police even came out to play cornhole and soccer! Some other vendors were there to offer services to the community as well. It was truly a collaborative effort and while for us the highlight was handing out over 400 filled back packs, the highlight for the students was most certainly the blow up bounce water slide!

Unfortunately, our goal of 500 fill back packs fell just short. However, the remaining backpacks that were not claimed will be donated to families still in need who were unable to attend. Of those that remain after that, they will all be donated to the local school district where they will certainly find a home!  Aside from the backpacks and supplies, we had received a huge donation of fresh produce and non-perishables to the tune of 4-5 pallets. ALL of our produce and nonperishables was distributed amongst the community that evening.

It was such an important event to have and to have been a part of it was truly sensational. Next year, we hope to reach even more members of the community and to continue creating and maintaining strong relationships with the community and various partners and donors.
