A Look Back and a Look Ahead
As this semester at Bergen Tech comes to a close, we are holding the last of our yoga classes before the long holiday break. Our first three courses were well-attended, with as many as thirty employees participating on a regular basis. We’ve asked people to give us feedback on what kinds of classes they would like us to add and what hours would better suit the many staggered shifts in our combined Technical Schools and Special Services programs. As a result we will be adding two more classes that will begin 30 minutes earlier than the class schedule we have been following. These classes will cater to people beginning a yoga practice and will progress to a more intermediate level over time. Tai Chi classes will begin in spring to take advantage of our outdoor garden space.
One unexpected benefit of holding classes at 3:45 has been the use of campus gym facilities by employees who have added a workout routine to their schedules before yoga or on days when they are not taking a class!
In January we will also launch our weekly lunchtime Yarn Circle. We are lucky to have some talented knitters and crocheters on staff to lend their expertise to the beginners.
Happy Holidays to all!
