Collaborations are Growing Like Weeds!
The Freehold Township Mayor’s Wellness Campaign continues the process of leveraging additional funds, which will bridge the gap in the Healthy Communities Grant, allowing the full 3-phase road improvement project around Opatut Park and the YMCA of Western Monmouth County. The desire to improve streetscape design and access to the parks is not unique to the Freehold Township MWC. The MWC is thrilled to continue working with the Freehold Township Recreation Commission, but also exploring opportunities to connect with the efforts of the Neighborhood Connections Coalition Bike/Walk Subgroup, who are working on similar efforts in Freehold Borough. Additionally, an agreement with Google has allowed a Street View Camera loan over the summer months. This opportunity has lead to visual 360 degree images of each of the parks and their assets. These efforts and new partnerships are helping to catapult the goals of the MWC forward and the group is excited to see what is to come!
