Door-to-Door Education

Our Healthy Housing Ambassadors are ready to travel door-to-door again to educate residents about the new Housing Element of the Master Plan as well as resources that are available to them.

Ariana, one of our Ambassadors, is currently attending Middlesex College and pursuing her degree in  Public Health.  She has many years of experience working in the healthcare system and worked for three FQHC’s.  She hopes to learn how to collaborate with others to address the issues Perth Amboy is having in her community with housing. She wants to gain knowledge of what’s going on in her community, county and even state to get an understanding of what’s going on and what’s needed to make it healthier place to live.

She applied  to the YMCA because she found it to be the perfect fit and opportunity to gain experience as  she’s pursuing my degree. She is a Perth Amboy resident born and raised and she is very familiar with the mission of the YMCA. Ariana will be working with people from her community. She wants for her city to have the resources and help they need so they can have healthier lives which leads to a better community.
