Fruit Flower Creations
In early April, members of the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton’s Early Childhood department learned about healthy eating habits as part of the overall early childhood education focused on reducing obesity and increasing physical activity. With our partner, City Green, Early Childhood teachers learned a preschool gardening curriculum. They started by planting seeds and weeks later, transferred them to the outdoor garden. Today the garden has produced various types of lettuce, radishes, scallions and chives, along with some herbs. In the upcoming weeks, children will make their strawberry-radish salsa and take a field trip to City Green’s Farm.
After planting in the outdoor garden, children made flower plants out of fresh fruit. Little hands; big impact.
