Preparing for a Post Covid-19 Return to School

Lincoln Park is very excited to get started with our fitness grant. The Covid-19 school closure certainly dampened our plans, but we are preparing to launch the next school year off with healthy bodies and minds in the Lincoln Park Schools.
Lincoln Park Elementary School will be installing a traverse rock wall in the gymnasium. The photograph shows the site of the rock wall installation. In their gym classes, students from kindergarten through grade 4 will be able to challenge themselves as they climb the wall only two feet above the ground, but the challenge to traverse the wall, up to twenty feet across. Up to four students can climb the wall at a time. LPES also houses a preschool program as well as classes for students with cognitive disabilities. For these students who may be unable to participate in the rock wall, there will be a sensory path installed in a hallway. This allows children to physically connect with their environment and allows teachers to connect with younger students to enhance their learning experiences.
