September – Back to School – Healthy Habits
September has come and gone but we are busy working on our intra-curricular design to implement our school gardens program come spring. The Kenilworth local Garden Center has agreed to work with our school to donate flowers, fruits and vegetables and continue teaching our school children the importance of healthy living and eating. The children learned so much over the summer through their new garden boxes. A vision for an outdoor classroom, reading area and respite space is being designed by students and staff to ensure sustainability.
We can’t wait to pick our pumpkins and begin our outdoor science labs during the fall and spring seasons. Stay tuned for more information on our progress.
The program is supported by funding from Atlantic Health System as part of the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network.
