Summer Fun at HomeFront

Greetings from HomeFront Family Campus!

We have been having a healthy and happy summer with lots of fun and movement!  Our 8 week summer camp, Camp Mercer, has brought our children some wonderful experiences.  Our teens have spent an afternoon each week in our teaching kitchen learning about how to make healthy choices and how to prepare some simple nutritious meals for their families.  The teens got a chance to visit Gravity Hill farm to learn where fresh produce comes from – they even gathered fresh vegetables and prepared homemade pizza in an outdoor pizza oven!   Our campers have also been able to swim, ride horses, go to the beach, take a hayride, practice yoga and much more….

Thanks to a new partnership with Prancing Peacock Yoga, our adults will also get the chance to practice healing and gentle yoga on a weekly basis.  To encourage our families to spend time outside and reduce stress, we recently planted flowers in our new “Healing Garden”.  We are always working to improve the culture of wellness by continuing regular fitness and healthy eating classes and by having healthier options at each meal.

Wishing you all lots of peace and happiness for the last days of summer!
