The Vauxhall Community Garden started 2019 with the following additions to our community garden, after our April 17, 2019 meeting we reached out to John Evangelista from Groundwork Elizabeth, Union County N.J. who installed 19 additional garden boxes bringing the total boxes to forty. The Vauxhall Community Garden continues to receive support from Atlantic Health Care who partners with Golden Rule Lodge to assist the community or Vauxhall for Healthy Eating and Living. The township of Union has supplied two picnic tables as well as mulch and they have committed to install a GREEN parking lot for all volunteers as well as community parking. The Vauxhall Community Garden utilized the grant provided by NJHCN to obtain the additional boxes including plants and soil for all boxes , a sprinkler system, shed and landscaping for the community garden. On May 20th, the vegetables were planted with the assistance of Golden Rule Chapter’s No 50 members.

The Vauxhall Community Garden will continue to produce fresh vegetables for the community in 2019, as well as supplying fresh vegetables to our food pantry ” Golden Kitchen”. The  UTCAO Daycare have been contracted for the children to create a Rock Garden and they have agreed,  We look forward to working with the churches, schools and seniors in our community to make Vauxhall Community Garden to meet all the needs of the community that can be supplied by an community garden.
