Tower Garden and Pickleball-Blog 6 (Year 2)
Blog 6 (Year 2) Tower Garden and Pickleball.
Central – Samantha Bunsa
Long Branch Public Schools ended their summer school/camps as of August 15th. All towers have been emptied, cleaned and stored for the upcoming school year. A new group of students will continue the program and LBPS will sustain the cost. They will also plan a community night and combine with Back to School. Due to a delay in the school opening, AWC Students will not start the growing until mid-November. However, they are all learning in their classes about how to grow and the benefits of good nutrition.
Pickleball continues in the community. We are continuing to play outside and plan on have two nights per week in the gym, however we will have to wait and see where we as a community are as far as the new variant. This activity has continued and has been very popular with the community. The students will continue the pickleball program in their PE classes.
Food services will try to set a night up for parents and community members in November.
Teachers will continue to facilitate Pickleball and grow their gardens throughout the semester.
