Vauxhall Community Garden Provides Fresh Vegetables to Seniors in Need
The Vauxhall Community Garden’s Food Pantry hosted a vegetable giveaway on Saturday, August 15, 2020 for the seniors in need of fresh vegetables.
This year we have so many vegetables that we decided to harvest and donate vegetables to the seniors of Vauxhall and Union. Each donated bag contains cabbage, collard greens, string beans, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplant. We prepared Fifty bags for distribution each senior received a bag of fresh vegetables. The Vauxhall Community Garden is located on the corner of Springfield and Eastside Avenues in Vauxhall NJ.
The Vauxhall Community Garden continues to donate fresh vegetables to Golden Kitchen Food Pantry on the second Saturday every month, during the pandemic we have been donating fresh vegetables to Golden Kitchen Food Pantry when they have Pop Ups to meet community needs.
Garden plots are available for individuals as well. If you live in the Vauxhall/Union area, community plots are available for next year on a first come first serve, so please inquire early.
